Tubular Fixator Rods

  • Rods are main skeleton parts of the external fixator systems.
  • These components are mostly made of Aluminium or Carbon composite material.
  • Diameters are 11 or 12 mm for lower extremities femur, tibia proximal and pelvis bones.

tubular fixator combined clamp

Tubular Fixator Combined Clamps

Clamps are the main parts of a tubular fixation system. Combined clamps have both rod and pin slots at both sides of the clamps.

The material is aluminium.

Stability is provided by a lockable gear mechanism inside the clamps. To fixing the rod to schanz pins or rod to rods can be used the same unit with this design.

schanz screw

Schanz Screws

Schanz screws are the solely invasive parts that fixed to the bones inside.

The material is 316-LVM grade biocompatible stainless steel.

So many diameter and length options are available for different bones. Diameters should be suitable to the bone dimension. Simply may be formulated as the proper diameter of schanz pins like that; 3 mm is for wrist and forearm, 4 mm is for elbow and humerus, 5 mm is for tibia and 6 mm is for femur and pelvic bones.
